Looking at several profiles since I have been on here I guess we are all looking for the perfect person and no-one wants second best in this day and age.

Looks do play a big part, but I think the ability to make us laugh, hold an intelligent conversation, and not use and abuse someone emotionally or physically is far more important.

I am of an age when I guess I am comfortable with where I am in life with regard to career, finances, lifestyle, friends. I know life isn't as perfect as to provide me with that soulmate, friend and lover that we all secretly want to grow older with, but I would like to tick some of the boxes, ie solvent, intelligent, kind and warm hearted,can make me laugh, and who understands the give and take of a close relationship.

I need convincing that there are still single, fun, interesting, intelligent, nice,normal,guys around,ones that dont lie about their age, take advantage, or lry you down. Even if they are 'just not that into me', I would like to think that I might at least make a few good friends along the way.

I am lucky enough to live near both the sea and the forest, so I do a fair bit of walking. I love films, reading, swimming, pubs, theatre, bowling, restaurants, and live bands, all the usual to be honest. I like animals and have a cat and too many fish to count. Dogs are a thing for the future, but work hours do not permit one at the moment.

I have recently begun a new career and its proving very challenging, but ultimately rewarding and I feel I am doing a service to society, so I guess its a good thing, even though a career change
was initially forced upon me by circumstances.

I am not after a one night stand so for those of you looking for that... look away now.

I have a bit of a passion for the SouthWest of England. My aim is to end up down that way by the time I retire, the thing is I was Born in Portsmouth, Grew up around Gosport Fareham and Its taken me until now to get to the New Forest area, at this rate let me see...... I will be around 650 yrs by the time I get to Looe! I like the coast, the country, the pace of life and the people. Its my spiritual home.
